We are looking for a Parks Resource Manager
Summary: Under the direct supervision of the General Manager, this position directs and coordinates the operation and management of the Park. Compensation includes on-site housing.
Provides direct supervision and coordination of staff in the Parks Department. Develops leaders in direct and support reporting roles. Supports leaders to develop hourly staff.
Supervises and coordinates the construction, maintenance and repairs of the grounds, trails, campground, public restrooms, equipment, shelters and Visitor Center within the Park.
Analyzes financial information and operational requirements in order to plan, prepare and manage the park’s operating budget. Ensures an efficient operation, within budget constraints and assures fiscal control and accountability.
Joint oversight of park-wide water and sewer system
Supervises camping reservations, check-in and check-out and overall guest experience.
Manages the operation and achievement of revenue, cost of sale and profitability within budget of two retail shops.
Promotes and maintains positive community relations. Develops local partnerships and volunteer programs that enhance the park assets and activities for park visitors.
Increases overall visitation to the Park and lodging. Plans and implements daily, monthly and seasonal recreational activities for guests and the general public.
Assumes natural resources protection and environmental education as a manager of park operations and visitor programming.
Boosts Friends volunteer membership, support and participation for park operations including but not limited to trail/park upkeep and sponsored events.
Manages trail system and promotion of Appalachian Trail.
Oversees Park security and safety.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred in park or natural resource management or other related degrees and three years of related work experience.
