THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY for a hard-working, cheerful, positive individual who can work as a Catering Sales Manager at our Resort.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Handle and follow up on inquiries for meetings/events. Follow up on leads by qualifying the customer’s needs and dates for the event to determine if the business is a good fit for the property.
Prospect for new catering business using a wide variety of methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, trade shows, attending community functions, wedding expos, blitzes, internet prospecting, supplier partnerships, etc.
Negotiate contracts. Identify and price customer needs for the event, up-selling where possible, and closing the sale with the customer, collecting the customer deposit & billing.
Sell sleeping room blocks connected to events
Work with Marketing Consultants on hotel’s cultural & wellness programming and manage onsite events
Monitor blocked space to ensure client is meeting their contractual obligations. Initiate release of blocked space on cut-off date to allow sale of these rooms to other customers.
Perform as the driver of all catering revenue and ensure quarterly and annual revenue goals are achieved for the hotel.
Maintain account files, ensuring accurate communication between client and hotel staff.
Develop short term and long term financial and operational plans for the Catering department which support the overall objectives of the hotel.
Ensure proper service to clients during the banquet/event. Act as the onsite contact.
Receive departmental related guest complaints and ensures corrective action is taken.
Immediately informs a supervisor or the manager on duty upon gaining knowledge of a hazardous situation, emergency, or threat to the security of guests, employees or hotel assets.
Provide advertising recommendations for approval and maintain online listings ie: The Knot.
Maintain good rapport with local civic groups and companies. Attend community events and networkers
Participate in creation of marketing materials
Participate in the annual budget and marketing plan process
Maintain proper hygiene and grooming habits
Maintain clean and neat work area at all times
Additional tasks as assigned by Director of Sales & Marketing
