Sales and Catering Manager - George T. Bagby State Park and Lodge
George T. Bagby State Park and Lodge, located in Fort Gaines Georgia, is looking for an aggressive and friendly Sales and Catering Manager. Our park is located on 700 acres of pine and hardwoods directly on the shoreline of Lake Walter F. George. The park has 60 lodging rooms, a full service restaurant, conference center with banquet and catering, Golf course and Marina.
General: This position reports directly to the General Manager with oversight by the Regional VP of Sales and Marketing. This is a salaried position with performance incentives. Pay and benefits are competitive. The position may require evenings and weekends as business demands dictate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
. Lead the property efforts in the development, implementation, and management of marketing and sales efforts focused on Business Groups, Meetings, Social Groups and Golf Groups with an eye for total property revenue development.
. Working with our corporate marketing team, conduct social media solicitation campaigns to increase awareness of our services and secure clients. Insure web site information is kept current.
. Conduct facility tours and site visits as necessary to secure business.
. Attend regional events as well as local community events to secure business.
. Follow up on inquiries and leads for meetings and events in a timely manner. Qualify customer needs and dates to determine if a group or event is a good fit for the property.
. Coordinate bookings such as reunions, weddings, community and other social events. Detail the events to insure all customer needs are understood. Develop contracts, proposals, and customized menus to meet client needs. Close the sale with the customer obtaining customer deposits following SOP.
. Sell and monitor blocked lodging space to insure client is meeting their contractual obligations. Initiate release of blocked space on cutoff date to allow sale of these rooms to other customers.
. Develop Group Lodging and Banquet Event Order (BEO) Meetings to review and have a thorough understanding of all group needs, events, and details. Coordinate with the various department heads to insure proper execution of group expectations.
Actively work previous files to redevelop former business relationships for future opportunities and creatively work to find new streams of rooms, golf and meeting business.
. Maintain account files, ensuring accurate communication between client and Resort staff.
. Secure and monitor pertinent information requirements related to catered events and maintain strict timelines for information between the Client, Culinary department and Banquet Captain.
Oversee the employees in the Banquets Department in accordance with company SOP and standards.
Work with outside vendors to make sure the Banquets Department has all needed supplies.
. Ensure proper service to clients during the banquet or event. Act as the onsite contact. Receive customer complaints and insure corrective action is taken.
Provide weekly reports to others in the local and corporate organization in order to keep the whole team engaged with providing service to our guests.
. Keep an open line of communication with clients throughout the booking cycle to assure the customer has realistic expectations of the property, the property and department heads fully understand the group needs and expectations, service is provided during the stay in line with these expectations, and proper client follow up after events to thank the group contact for their business, solicit feedback both positive and negative that will benefit management and the event staff, and rebook the group and other affiliated groups for future dates.
Active involvement in community events and groups including the local chambers.
Previous experience in sales or marketing.Prior experience in Hospitality, hotels or Food and Beverage is a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge and use of a personal computer including word, excel and PowerPoint and various POS and Sales Management software.
